Why we built Nexus
VoIP International operated on NetSapiens for over a decade. We watched our own licensing costs climb faster than our subscriber revenue. Tier increases without feature increases. Support response times that drifted. A platform built for vendors selling to operators, not for operators serving customers.
So we built our own. A multi-tenant softswitch with the reseller hierarchy of NetSapiens, the data/binary separation of PortaOne, and none of the licensing tier traps of either. We use it to run our own retail business — phone service, Pro Mobile, AI Receptionist, internet, and hardware — across our active customer base.
Now we license Nexus to other operators who watched the same thing happen to their margins.

Voice, messaging, AI, and channel hierarchy. Built as microservices on Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Kafka, and PostgreSQL. Three web portals — admin, tenant, agent.
Class 4/5 softswitch
Registrar, trunking, codecs, fax, E911 with Ray Baum's Act compliance. SIP signaling on Kamailio, media on FreeSWITCH. BYOC supported.
Multi-tenant reseller hierarchy
Seven-role RBAC, tenant-scoped data, masquerade for support, white-label per tenant. Built to support reseller-of-resellers.
Omnichannel customer experience
Queues, callbacks, customer tiers, agent desktop, CDR with AI-generated summaries. Time conditions and routing strategies including round robin, ring all, longest idle, least-recent-call.
AI Receptionist OTT
Deepgram speech-to-text, Claude reasoning, ElevenLabs voice. Blended cost approximately $0.04 per minute. Deployable on Nexus or alongside any other platform.

Tenant-scoped database connections, per-tenant rate limits, audit logs that don't bleed across customers. We run our own business as one tenant; everything else stays out.
